Botanical Information: Pineapple Sage Salvia elegans is a tender perennial plant with tubular red flowers and an attractive, fruity scent to the leaves. The scent is compared to a pineapple as well as a margarita. Pineapple sage leaves are edible. An herbal infusion may be used for a variety of problems including digestion, heartburn, balancing the nervous system as well as a general tonic. To make a tea use 1/4 cup fresh leaves or one teaspoon dry leaves.
