Botanical Information: Native to British Columbia to Northern California, the Pink Flowering Currant blooms in early spring, ten to thirty flowers per cluster and can reach five feet tall. ribes sanguineum glutinosum is native to canyons and north slopes in the coast ranges. This currant likes shade to part shade, moderate water in interior, very drought tolerant in coastal gardens. Fruits are edible and attract thrushes, quail, towhees, robins, and finches. A nectar source for hummingbirds.
